Some of my recent work involves the development and application of multivariate taxometric procedures. Taxometrics is the name given to a family of psychometric techniques that distinguish types (natural kinds, classes) from continua (factors, dimensions). Paul Meehl and I have recently published a book that describes the mathematical rationale and philosophy of science underpinnings of several taxometric procedures.
