I bought ICD-P17, which records only at 8k Hz. This one can do 44.1k, 16k, and 8k with its 16M memory. About 1/3 more expensive, and non-expandable. USB1.0?? The directional mic maybe a good thing to have, though. It also has VoA, fast/slow play (without pitch changes), and hi/mid/low mic sensitivities. Sounds like a better deal.

returned the ICP-17 ang bought this one. Haven’t tried yet.
