“The boy who raised as a girl” …. hmm… is this grammartical? My non-native intuition (read: residuals from highschool English classes) tells me that it would sound better if it were either:

“the boy who was raised as a girl”, or

“the boy raised as a girl”

This SD-card-based camcorder is that my friend XY has. It seems like a good choice for doing field observations — it eliminates the video capturing process, which is time-consuing and error-prone.

Questions: Video/audio quality? Storage (with possibly 1/2G SD card; HDD support to come?)? File format compatibility (with Real, QT, e.g.)? Price ($600)?

Bill Poser´s new post on Language Log links to some interesting historical arguments (and documents) on the origin of mama/papa words. Sounds like great materials for Intro Psych courses.

Glad that I still vaguely remembered that I´d come across this little wonder… I downloaded it in July 2002 as a Tclkit StarKit. It works great for debutting HTTP requests.

SockspySockspy is a TCP convesation debugger. It sits between a TCP client and server, and displays the data streams from each endpoint. Sockspy runs […]

Tags: For all the years I´ve been using Micro$oft OneNote (which adds up to 1), I have been complaining about it. Well, today I was thrilled by an accidental discovery — that OneNote is also a built-in bilingual dictionary (of many languages) and possibly a multilingual interpretor, too. To me, manuals are the last resort when […]
