Visual illusion, mine
Honestly, I am getting tired of the spinning naked woman on my blog. So I figured I’d just keep posting, and eventually it would be pushed out of the front page.
Here goes…
… my first visual illusion. Is that the bell-cueved Gaussian distribution or is it tilted?
This is a clip from a Mathematica notebook I am working on, where I am trying to implement RHS Carpenter’s LATER model of saccade latency distribution. The other curve is the recinormal distribution, i.e., Normal(1/x). Because it’s heavily skewed, it pulls the Gaussian, which is perfectly symmetric, a little sideways. [Clipping at the origin helps a bit, too].
Parameters of the distributions are shown above.
